JOHANNESBURG – Drivers who called by email on Monday said they would continue their protests in Joburg on Tuesday.

The drivers demanded that the industry be regulated, saying they had been exploited for too long.

Monday was a day of drama with Bolt’s top management in Bryanston refusing to accept the driver’s memo.

The drivers then blocked the main entrance by refusing to leave, saying they would not go anywhere until they showed up.

But the drivers were forced to open the entrance after more police were deployed.

“We have received a commitment from Bolt. The first demand they are willing to meet is that blocked drivers be unblocked, ”said a spokesman for the drivers, Vhatuka Mbelengwa.

Drivers were expected to meet at Zoo Lake Tuesday morning before heading back to Bryanston.
