Makro has revealed its plans for Black Friday 2020, which will comprise a full month of specials across all of its product categories.
Among other measures, it will offer a limited shipping rate of R90 on all orders placed during the Black Friday period.
“If queuing feels uncomfortable, don’t worry. Makro will reserve a parking spot for Black Friday online, just for you with equally attractive offers, ”the company said.
The retailer’s Black Friday sale will run for the entire month of November, giving customers plenty of time to purchase the products they want while maintaining social distancing and COVID-19 safety precautions.
Makro said that customers could expect the following in terms of Black Friday deals:
- 10% cashback in mRewards for the opening week (2-8 November) on non-promotional general merchandise in store and online
- Limited delivery fee of R90 on all orders (excluding extended range items and trade orders)
- Free locker delivery on qualified orders
- Same day delivery on grocery and liquor orders through the One Cart app
- 50 new and exciting offers every week
“You’ll want to get ready early and that’s why we’re bringing you the latest Black Friday information, so you know exactly what to buy without missing out on the amazing deals each week,” said Makro.
“The Makro team has looked far and wide to bring you a range of must-have products at unmissable prices.”
“These unbeatable specials will only run during the week they are advertised and will not be offered again, so we encourage buyers to take advantage of the deals each week, rather than waiting until the end of November,” he said.
COVID-19 safety
The retailer also explained how it would deal with physical shoppers who visit its stores during the sale.
“Black Friday 2020 will offer a very different kind of shopping experience, lines of shoppers standing three feet away with pockets full of sanitizer lining up for a socially distanced visit,” said Makro.
“We are ensuring a safe environment for all of our customers and employees.”
Makro said that customers can online registration to be the first to see great deals when they go live.
