Arsene Wenger has invented a solution to Mikel Arteta’s Mesut Ozil problem at Arsenal. There is a suggestion that the German and Thomas Partey could form a deadly duo in midfield. Arsenal failed in their attempts to land Lyon star Houssem Aouar, but managed to sign Partey after activating his release clause from Atlético de Madrid.
And Wenger has hinted that it could be the answer to Ozil de Arteta’s problems.
Speaking to Der Speigel, he said: “He wasn’t exactly the one with the most discipline on the field.
“And playing off the ball wasn’t exactly his strong suit. But you can deal with that if you put some more defensive players on his side.
“The main thing is to achieve the correct balance between attack and defense.”

In addition to Partey, Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes also signed permanent agreements where Dani Ceballos joined on another one-season loan.
But Ozil remains largely out of the picture and may have already played his last game for the Gunners.
That was further exemplified by his pursuit of Aouar in the summer, which ultimately failed.
“He’s definitely the type of player that Arsenal fans would love to see in the middle of the park, that’s for sure.
“If he wants to stay at Lyon, that is his concern, he is still a young player.
“To replace Ozil, I think he is the best option for Arsenal.”
