On Friday, the 57-year-old businessman was with his family at his Joe Gqabi home, when two strangers entered the front door around 7:05 p.m. The men shot a woman in the living room. She was hit in the upper part of her body.

The gunmen then moved to another room where they fired two shots, killing the businessman, said police spokesman Colonel Sibongile Soci.

According to the information, there were also two children, between the ages of 5 and 10, in the home who were unharmed during the incident. The suspects fled the scene on foot and the information suggests that a white pole with an unknown registration number was picked up, “Soci said.

The police are investigating murder and attempted murder cases. The motive for the murder is unclear at this time.
