With the return of Dean Henderson from his successful loan stint at Sheffield United, the Argentine has fallen further into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pecking order. Before, Romero was always the first choice when it came to cup competitions such as the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League.
Now, with Henderson probably filling those minutes, Romero’s departure from Old Trafford appears to be a natural consequence. His wife’s comments have further increased tensions around the whole situation.
