A missing child was found dead.

The body of a four-year-old boy was found in a box at Ikhutseng in Warrenton, Northern Cape, on Friday.
The box in which the boy’s lifeless body, identified as Thapelo Monageng, was found, was covered with a blanket.
According to police, the boy left his home to go to a local grocery store around 11:00 on Friday. He did not return home and his family reported him missing at a local police station.
“An intensive search was initiated by Captain Fourie of Warrenton SAPS. Police followed up the information and the body of the deceased was found at the suspect’s home in Ikhutseng last night,” said police spokesman Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba.
The 36-year-old suspect, who is not related to the deceased, was arrested, Ramatseba added, saying the motive for the murder is still unknown.
The suspect is expected to appear in Warrenton Magistrates Court on Monday.
