The Team of Choice is known to be eager to re-sign Tebogo Tlolane, while the Bucs are longtime fans of the Black Stars’ number one goalkeeper.

The Orlando Pirates will reportedly finalize the signing of Maritzburg United goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

The Ghana international has been on the radar of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) giants Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns for a while.

The Sundowns’ interest in Ofori has reportedly cooled in recent months after the PSL champions signed two goalkeepers, Jody February and Ricardo Goss.

The pirates are said to have submitted an offer for Ofori, who established himself as one of the PSL’s best goalkeepers in the recent 2019/20 season.

The two teams have agreed to a trade deal that will include Tebogo Tlolane, according to widespread reports that emerged Friday.

Tlolane spent the second round of the recent season on loan at Maritzburg from the Pirates and excelled with coach Eric Tinkler.

Maritzburg president Farouk Kadodia has confirmed that the club has started talks with the Pirates about the services of the left-side player.

The Team of Choice is looking to retain Tlolane with the Johannesburg-born player who scored two goals and recorded four assists in 15 league appearances for Tinkler’s team.

Pirates are known to be looking for a quality goalkeeper, who will offer stiff competition for their current number one, Wayne Sandilands.

The Soweto giants have been linked to a number of shooting blocks, including Ofori, Rwanda international Emery Mvuyekure and AmaZulu captain Siyabonga Mbatha.

Nuhu Adams of Ghana Soccer Net also indicated that Ofori is close to joining the four-time PSL champions.

“Richard Ofori for the Orlando Pirates is almost done,” Adams wrote in his official Twitter account.

“Maritzburg United accept the offer from the Orlando Pirates for Ghana’s number one. Negotiations of personal terms are well advanced [90% through]. “

Ofori, who was recently named second vice captain of Ghana, will miss the Black Stars friendly matches against Mali and Qatar.

He has been ruled out of the games because his work permit has expired and he would require at least two weeks to renew.
