The revamped Jaguar XF has been revealed, while the local arm of the British firm also confirms the range of engines for South Africa.
Expected to hit local roads in “early” 2021 As a rival to models like the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the updated XF has received updates inside and out. However, the company appears to have lost six-cylinder power.
So what engines will be included in the SA range? Well, there will be three powertrain options available, each with a 2.0-liter displacement, four-cylinder (and turbocharger) and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel-powered D200 delivers 147 kW (up to 15 kW) and 430 Nm at the rear axle, while gasoline options include the P250 rear-wheel drive (with 183 kW and 365 Nm) and the all-legged P300 (with 221 kW). and 400 Nm). The D200 will reach 100 km / h from a standstill in 7.6 seconds, while the P200 completes the sprint in 6.9 seconds (the P300, meanwhile, has an indicated time of 6.1 seconds).
Exterior styling updates to the XF include a new front bumper with lower and larger air intakes, plus new quad LED headlights. There is also a wider grille with a mesh design and fender vents with the signature “Leaper” emblem. With a rounded back, you’ll find a wider bumper and a body-colored upper valance, plus blacked-out taillight trim.
Inside, there’s a new center console (incorporating an optional wireless smartphone charger), as well as a centrally located 11.4-inch curved glass HD touchscreen (with the latest Pivi Pro infotainment software and with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality) in a magnesium alloy shell. The company has also added a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster to the mix.
Look closely and you’ll notice a new transmission selector, with its upper section finished in “cricket ball” stitching and the lower element made of “precision metal”. Jaguar says it has also added new door frames with larger storage pockets. There are also redesigned seats with wider padding, new massage features, and “improved coverage” of heated and cooled areas.
