Asset Forfeiture Unit seizes several luxury cars belonging to Edwin Sodi

The unit attaches assets that were allegedly purchased with cash from the 2014 asbestos scandal in the Free State.

JOHANNESBURG – The Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Tax Authority (NPA) has seized several luxury cars belonging to businessman Edwin Sodi’s Blackhead Consulting company in Bryanston.

Vehicles seized so far include a Ferrari, a Porsche and a Bentley.

The unit attaches assets that were allegedly purchased with cash from the 2014 asbestos scandal in the Free State.

Sodi was handcuffed by the Hawks last week for illegally profiting from the project.

NPA spokesman Sipho Ngwema said the curator’s office was conducting the operations.

“They were working early today at Peter Place. They were also on her property in Bryanston, where they are moving personal property, which will be seized under the order. But they are also seizing the houses, which according to the order, can still have custody, but they are not allowed to make any alteration ”.
