CAPE TOWN – The state capture investigation has heard how former President Jacob Zuma wanted an investigation and suspensions at Eskom.

Consultant Nicholas Linnell told the Zondo Commission how former South African Airways (SAA) president Dudu Myeni facilitated discussions on issues at the energy company.

Linnell provided more evidence related to Eskom to the commission on Monday.

Dubbed a “fixer” for Myeni, Linnell met with Zuma on two different occasions.

The second meeting was at Zuma’s residence in Durban.

He said the two meetings were to discuss how an investigation into Eskom officials would be handled.

“My understanding beforehand was to discuss the details of the proposed investigation and to meet with the president regarding discussing the proposed approach.”

Linnell said he found nothing wrong with having Myeni as SAA president facilitating Eskom’s discussions with the president.

“In my opinion, Myeni is said to be a close confidante and a political ally of the president. And the fact that she is also president of the SAA is due to the fact that she is a confidant and political ally of the president. So her role was not that of SAA president. “
