Cape Town has confirmed the transfer of forward Kermit Erasmus to main champion Mamelodi Sundowns.
The city announced Sunday morning that they had reached an agreement with the Pretoria side and that the well traveled Bafana star Bafana would pack his bags and head to the nation’s capital.
Sundowns may have lost super coach Pitso Mosimane to continental rival Al Ahly, but the Brazilians have already signaled that they will not easily relinquish their dominance over South African soccer.
Erasmus was recently named to the Bafana squad that will play two international friendly matches against Namibia and Zambia in preparation for the resumption of their qualifying campaign for the African Cup of Nations in November.
Bafana will face the Namibians on October 8 before facing the Zambians on October 11 in matches to be played at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.
Erasmus is a great addition to the champions and his career has taken him to Dutch Feyenoord, French clubs Rennes and Lens, Orlando Pirates and Supersport United, among others.
