JOHANNESBURG – Two suspects were arrested Saturday in connection with the murder of Brendin Horner.

Horner, a 21-year-old farm manager in the Free State, was found dead by police Friday morning. They tied him with a rope to the post in an open space located in De Rots.

A knife was seized from the scene and his Toyota Hilux was later found abandoned, with bloodstains.

The two were arrested by Senekal detectives in Fateng tse Ntho in Paul Roux.

Blood-stained clothing and shoes were found at the arrest site and will be taken for forensic evidence. The two men are alleged to be cattle thieves and the deceased is suspected of having seen them on the day they were killed.

The suspects will appear in Senekal’s trial court on Tuesday on a murder charge.
