Liverpool won the league title last season. The Reds were in the driver’s seat all season, dominating the national competition. Many experts had advised Manchester City to get their crown back this time, but they are already showing the same weaknesses as ever. Some Twitter users have claimed that Manchester City are already out of the title race.
Liverpool walk to the title
Last season, Liverpool won their first league title in 30 years, crowned champions by an 18-point margin.
The Reds’ lead was extended to 24 points at times during the season, in truth they probably would have broken the 100-point mark had the game pause not interrupted the team’s pace.
Manchester City lost nine games last season, a record that saw them finish far behind the pace of eventual winners.
Manchester City drops more points
For whatever reason, the pundits thought Pep Guardiola would wave a magic wand and solve all the problems we saw with City last season.
This season we have seen more of the same. The Citizens were beaten 5-2 at home by Leicester City last week, this week they drew at Leeds United.
Given the extraordinary pace the Reds set last season and the fact that Jürgen Klopp’s team shows no signs of giving up, these four lost points could be the first of many and could prove vital.

If something doesn’t change soon, the Citizens will play a serious game of catching up.
It’s not too early, boss. You’re already falling behind, better wake up your boys or play catch up
