Man United XI vs Tottenham: Confirmed initial team news, expected line-up, latest Premier League injuries

Harry Maguire is back for Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham this afternoon after recovering from a blow.

The center-back missed the Carabao Cup win on weekdays against Brighton, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that he will be available to try to keep Harry Kane in good shape.

A key decision for the United manager will be who will play alongside their captain, with Eric Bailly pushing hard to displace Victor Lindelof.

Solskjaer is ready to give Bailly a chance to establish himself as Maguire’s long-term partner this season, but has so far started Lindelof in both Premier League matches this season.

After conceding five goals in those games, United face a daunting task trying to keep Kane calm.

The English forward scored a hat-trick against Maccabi Haifa on Thursday to bring his season tally to six.

Solskjaer said: “I think that every coach when he plays against a team with the quality he has, prepares. But also with Harry Kane, of course, you prepare very well.

“Harry is one of the best forwards in the world and you are happy that he is fit after the injury he had last year. But we will do our best to keep it quiet.

“We have a Harry back there who’s looking forward to playing his international teammate.”

Manchester United predicted XI to face Tottenham (4-2-3-1): De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Shaw; Matic, Pogba; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial
