Paul Pogba has reportedly telephoned Barcelona striker Ousmane Dembélé in an attempt to convince him to join Manchester United.
The Red Devils are desperate to strengthen their attack this summer, but time is quickly running out and Pogba is apparently taking matters into his own hands.
United have been most strongly linked to Dortmund striker Jadon Sancho, with a £ 108 million rating, but are ready to stop trying to sign the English international this month.
Dembélé has emerged as a cheaper alternative and a player who needs a change to revitalize his career now that he has fallen into the Camp Nou hierarchy.

Pogba was previously involved in Manchester United’s transfer business and was credited with helping the club secure a transfer for Romelu Lukaku over the line.
According to Spanish publication Mundo Deportive, the French international has now called Dembélé to discuss a move to Old Trafford.
Pogba is alleged to have spoken about United’s ambitions, noting that there are many Francophones at the club, including Anthony Martial and Eric Bailly.
He is also said to have suggested that Dembélé will have more opportunities at United, as he currently has to compete with Ansu Fati and Francisco Trincao at the Camp Nou.

Finally, he pointed out that it would be beneficial for him in his bid to return to the French configuration, with the European Championship on the horizon.
United have made just one transfer this summer to £ 35m midfielder Donny van de Beek.
But Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has continually hinted that he wants to add more names to his roster before the window slammed shut.
