Retired goalkeeper congratulates former Masandawana boss on his new job in Egypt

Former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper John Tlale says Al Ahly’s new manager Pitso Mosimane has no challenges left at Chloorkop and congratulates the veteran coach on his new appointment.

The retired goalkeeper is encouraging Mosimane’s assistant Manqoba Mngqithi to have a chance to lead the club because bringing in a new coach could destabilize the ten-time Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions.

On the other hand, the Free State legend also urged players to move on with their lives and focus on work because some changes come with pain.

“I think it is a good move for Pitso because he will face new challenges in Egypt. I don’t think he has had more challenges at Sundowns because he has won everything the club has to offer, “said Tlale objective.

“It’s really good for him, he made a bold decision and we have to support him. Al Ahly is a great club and we have to congratulate him, it’s a great change for him ”.

On his preferred pick to succeed the five-time PSL winner facing a new challenge with the Red Devils in Cairo, Tlale wants the former Golden Arrows boss to take over as head coach.

“I think Manqoba deserves a chance because we all know what he is capable of as a coach. To be honest, we know that he can transform an ordinary team or player into a superstar.”

“He is a good and highly qualified coach. He deserves a chance and it will be fair to give him the job because bringing in someone new will have to start over and that could destabilize the team.

“[A new coach might come and] change a few things and I don’t think Sundowns needs that right now. Pitso has put together a good technical team that has shown many that they can win things.

“You will recall that Sundowns had several European coaches before Pitso arrived and there were no trophies in the club.”

Sharing his message with the players ‘Jingles’ has built a strong relationship with, the 1996 African Cup of Nations winner had some advice.

“Players need to understand one thing, there is an opportunity for everyone and some changes come with pain,” continued Tlale.

“They have to move on with their life as professionals and make sure they continue to do well for the club. The coach has moved on, yes, he was a father figure to them, but they also have to focus on their jobs.

“It is a personal decision that he [Pitso] made, a decision that will benefit him personally, financially and his CV. It’s fair that the players keep going because I’m sure Pitso will want to see them do well even in his absence.
