Liverpool face Arsenal in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at Anfield, with a place in the quarterfinals at stake.

Jurgen Klopp’s team will look forward to a repeat of their 3-1 win over Arsenal on Monday night as the Reds laid down their title credentials in impressive fashion.

Speaking after the victory over Mikel Arteta’s side, Reds boss Klopp praised his team’s performance.

“It was good,” he told LFC TV. “It was a really good game, I loved every second. I didn’t like the goal we conceded, but the reaction after immediately, I really liked it.

“Against a top-level team in shape, playing like we did tonight is something, to be honest. It doesn’t help us for Thursday and it doesn’t help us for Sunday, but for tonight it was pretty good I have to say.

“I really liked it: we were dominant, we played football, we were difficult to defend, the counter-press was superior, the attitude was excellent and we played really good things.

“Arsenal didn’t have too many chances, but some, because they have real quality. I think most of the moments they had were offside, very good defense, but Ali made a save anyway.

“Everything was fine, a very good performance.”

Klopp is likely to make several changes to his lineup for the clash against Arsenal on Thursday night, with the summer signing of Diogo Jota pressing to start after his impressive goalscoring cameo on Monday.

Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri are also likely to appear after starring in a 7-2 win over Lincoln in the previous round.

Thiago Alcantara will be missing once again, with the midfielder isolated after his positive COVID19 test, while left-back Kostas Tsimikas will also not be involved due to a thigh problem picked up at Lincoln.

“We have Kostas, who after the Lincoln game had a thigh problem,” Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders told the club’s official website.

“We thought it would be resolved, it was not, so it will take more time. You will not be involved on Thursday and also not on Sunday [against Aston Villa]. “

Liverpool expected lineup: Adrian, N. Williams, R Williams, Van Dijk, Milner; Jones, Grujic, Shaqiri; Jota, Minamino, Origi.
