Just when the demand for air travel is increasing, Mango’s entire fleet may have to be on the ground.
Although SAA does not yet fly domestically, it has several chartered flights scheduled for the week.
If the SAA technician does not resume his services, those flights will also be suspended.
SAA Technical plans to withdraw its services because they owe it millions of rand.
SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlali said: “The SAA technician has sent a communication to SAA about the suspension. Because SAA has not been able to meet its obligations regarding payments. Actually, the SAA technician is pursuing their interests. business and you need to make sure your customers can pay for the services provided. “
Mango said its operations are running normally and customers will be notified if their flight has been canceled.
Mango spokesperson Benediction Zubane said: “Mango can confirm that key and sensitive discussions are currently taking place between Mango and SAAT to continue operations in these difficult times. Mango is currently operating normally and all customers they should always check the website for changes to their flights. “
No aircraft can fly without exhaustive control by the technical team.
Tlali explained, “On a practical level for a flight that must take off, there is a step known as pre-flight inspection before any aircraft can take off. That is one of the important services that must be provided.”
For now, it all depends on whether SAA Technical and the two airlines reach an agreement or whether the debt is paid.
