JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi said that this year’s tuition test should not be changed due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
Seniors are expected to sit down for their first assignment on November 5 and the testing period ends on December 15.
The 2020 academic year was interrupted by a government-imposed lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 by restricting movements.
Students returned to the classroom across the country as lockdown levels were gradually reduced.
Lesufi said the role has already been established and should remain the same.
“2020 enrollees must be exactly the same as 2013 or 2005 enrollees. We don’t want to stigmatize 2020 enrollees so that when they get to college people think they came easily.”
