The LEEDS have a “concrete interest” in Manchester United winger Daniel James.

The Premier League rookies initially attempted to capture the 22-year-old Welshman from Swansea on the transfer deadline day in January 2019.

He eventually joined United six months later, but could now be allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer, if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lands on Jadon Sancho’s main target.

And according to Sky Sports, Elland Road would be James’ most likely destination.

Transfer guru Dharmesh Sheth said: “While Manchester United are struggling to unload players, there seems to be a concrete interest from Leeds in winger Daniel James.

“Would United consider letting James go on loan? Usually, yes.

“The problem is that he is currently Mason Greenwood’s first-choice backup on the right side.

“So that brings us back to Jadon Sancho, and you wonder if James will be allowed to go on loan without Sancho or if an alternative was brought into the squad.

“Looks like I wouldn’t unless they bring in Sancho or a replacement.

“United fans are looking forward to 12 days to do business.”

Leeds’ failed search for James was well documented in the Amazon Prime series Take Us Home.

The documentary shows Leeds technical director Victor Orta visibly upset at the movement’s downfall at the latest hurdle that would have seen James join Leeds for just £ 10 million.

The Wales international joined United for £ 18 million plus add-ons at the start of the 2019-20 Premier League season.

James got off to a good start at United scoring three goals in four Premier League appearances, earning accolades for his quick start to life in Manchester.

Later, form would plummet for the 22-year-old as he went through a seven-month goal drought before scoring in United’s 5-0 Uefa Europa League win over LASK.

Questions have been raised about James’ ability to pull it off at a major club like United, where he has since lost his place to 18-year-old academy superstar Mason Greenwood.
