TS Sporting has announced the sudden passing of midfielder Katlego Mojela.
In a statement issued Saturday morning, TS Sporting said Mojela complained of dizziness on September 25.
“TS Sporting Football Club wishes to confirm the untimely passing of our footballer Mr. Katlego Mojela, also known as ‘KG’.
“KG sadly passed away after complaining of dizziness on September 25, 2020,” TS Sporting said in the statement.
Mojela was still new to the club after joining them from the ABC Motsepe League at the start of the 2019-20 season.
He began racing in his debut season in the NFD, making 27 appearances in all competitions for the Mpumalanga-based team.
Mojela received jersey number 25 when he first arrived at the club and wore it with pride, making him popular in the NFD as a rookie.
“KG joined TS Sporting at the start of the 2019-20 season after being selected in the ABC Motsepe League play-offs in 2019.”
“He played 27 games in his first season and scored four goals that helped the team qualify for the knockout stages of the Nedbank Cup,” the statement continued.
“KG was a dedicated member of the team and was always willing to go the extra mile. His sudden move leaves a great void in the TS Sporting family.”
“We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to KG’s family, friends and teammates. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this difficult time.”
The club has confirmed to be in communication with the Mojela family to comment on the details of the midfielder’s funeral.
“The details of KG’s funeral have not yet been finalized. TS Sporting is in communication with his family in this regard.”
