Tottenham Hotspur progressed to the next Europa League qualifying round after beating KF Shkendija 3-1 tonight.
The Spurs headed to North Macedonia after beating Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the final round of the competition, and this time they were looking for a less stressful night.
They did at least take an early lead through Erik Lamela, but Spurs were left sweating when Valmir Naflu fired a tying goal for the hosts.
Son Heung-min put the Spurs up front with 20 minutes to play, and backup Harry Kane came off the bench to add a third.
Tottenham will now face Haccabi Haifa next Thursday for a group stage berth, and José Mourinho should be pleased with Tanguy Ndombele’s display.
The Frenchman got off to another start after playing Southampton on Sunday, and managed 90 minutes this time as he looks to improve his fitness.
Ndombele was active in midfield, and fans took to Twitter to praise him for looking more like the player Tottenham bought from Lyon last summer.
Ndombele was praised for looking ‘really smart’ and ‘quietly excellent’, believing that is exactly what the Spurs need as he begins to show his best form.
