The charges relate to the murder of anti-gang unit member Charl Kinnear, who was shot outside his home in Bishop Lavis last week.

Over the years, Kinnear had been instrumental in investigations into the criminal underworld.

Killian’s attorneys had intended to file a bond request, but the state plans to object.

The man accused of pulling the trigger was still at large and it was not yet known who gave the order to kill Kinnear.

Kilian’s case was postponed until October 5.
