Although their interest in a deal has dragged on for three months, United have apparently been in constant contact with the player’s representative, Emeka Obasi.
United legend Andy Cole believes his former club should turn down a deal for Sancho anyway, to prioritize other areas of the team.
“Putting Jadon Sancho on that Man United team wouldn’t mean they win the league this season, far from it,” Cole told TEAMtalk.
“He’s a talented kid, really talented, but it won’t change everything for United.
“Bringing in two or three players with that money might be a more sensible route.”
Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan, Ousmane Dembélé of Barcelona and Douglas Costa of Bayern Munich are admired by United’s hierarchy and are potential alternatives to Sancho.
