Manchester United fans were absolutely delighted with Eric Bailly after his great performance against Luton Town in the League Cup.
The talented Ivorian started the victory 3-0 and was instrumental in why his team even kept a clean sheet.
Along with Harry Maguire, Bailly impressed enough to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a pick headache for the weekend’s match.
United mostly kept Luton at arm’s length and while there will be tougher opponents, the signs were encouraging.
If Bailly can keep up those performances, then there’s no reason he couldn’t be a first-choice center-back at Old Trafford.
Can we all agree with Bailly and Maguire for Brighton? I’d even say Henderson started too, but that’s a much tougher decision. If not, Pogba would love to see Matic or Fred with van de Beek and Fernandes. Greenwood, Martial and Rashford are the top three.

We have to freeze Eric Bailly after every game because this guy is our best defender by far.

Bailly’s fitness issues have always been a concern so it was good to see him not sustaining any injuries even though Luton is a physical side.
There have been many false sunrises in the former Villareal player’s career at Manchester United, so fans would do well to adapt expectations.
In theory, however, Bailly has everything on his locker to become a top central defender, as his pace, game reading and even passing are the desired traits of the modern defender.
Victor Lindelof seems like the easy target, but the injury-prone defender can surpass Maguire, as well as the first choice, such is his raw talent.
Manchester United’s new star Donny van de Beek is the 13th Dutchman to play for the senior team. But how much do you know about the other 12? Take our questionnaire below to find out.
