Veteran actress Florence Masebe has weighed in on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s call for the nation to celebrate Heritage Day by making the Jerusalem dance challenge.
The president called on Mzansi to take advantage of the holiday to celebrate the heritage of the SA and join the world by participating in the viral #JerusalemaChallenge.
There is no doubt that Master KG and Nomcebo’s hit track has taken the world by storm and played a vital role in showing what Mzansi has to offer. So it was not surprising that Ramaphosa gave the track recognition during his address to the nation last week.
Most people were enthusiastic about the call, including Master KG himself, but Florence shared a different perspective.
“After fighting the braai day people for years, we are here. The president and the company thought it smart to declare a song with a biblical tone as our pride of heritage for 2020. I want us to really think about what this represents without assuming that those who oppose its declaration hate the song, ”he said.
