Police Minister Bheki Cele said two suspects who escaped after a botched cash-in-transit robbery in Dawn Park have been on police radar for years.

JOHANNESBURG – A reservist based out of the National Police Commissioner’s office has been discovered to be among those involved in a botched cash-in-transit robbery in Boksburg.
Five suspects were killed in a shooting with police in Dawn Park on Wednesday.
Authorities said two other thieves were arrested and some of the stolen money was recovered.
Police Minister Bheki Cele visited the community on Wednesday and told residents that the two suspects who escaped had been on police radar for years.
“Two of them are well known in crime syndicate circles and all of their names are known. Some of them have been persecuted by the police for almost three years ”.

Police received a tip moments before the crime took place.
“The information was collected and the police were aware that this was going to happen. Then it happened, they ran and came here. The police chased them, then someone opened fire on the police, ”Cele said.
Wednesday’s robbery comes just two days after criminals carried out a cash in transit at Evaton.
