Rob Dawson denies Ed Woodward is the only culprit

Journalist Rob Dawson has clarified the situation behind the scenes at Manchester United, insisting that Ed Woodward is not the only one to blame for the club’s disaster.

It seems that the structural problems are deeper than initially believed and that it is not just one man’s fault.

Woodward is the face of the club and therefore receives a lot of criticism as well as the Glazers family as they own and run the club.

Calls from fans for a change of ownership have recently increased and while Dawson understands why and agrees with them, he has revealed what is happening on a structural level.

Part of the fans’ frustrations stem from the lack of signings with only Donny van de Beek on board so far.

In an interview with The Peoples Person, which can be viewed here, Dawson explained how Woodward does not rule the club on his own or with an iron fist and instead is in charge of the day-to-day.

Woodward is said to be not as involved in transfers as is believed and instead the entire recruiting department, as well as Solskjaer, have a say in the signings.

The Glazers are also more involved in the deals than you think as they say in everything and there is an agreement that they must do better in the market.

Woodward has recognized a problem, particularly under Louis van Gaal, that the club is not hiring the right players, so they have tried to renew transfers and how they are done in recent years.

Manchester United’s new star Donny van de Beek is the 13th Dutchman to play for the senior team. But how much do you know about the other 12? Take our questionnaire below to find out.
