PRETORIA – Nigeria’s High Commissioner to South Africa on Wednesday said it would not allow Nigerians to be profiled as criminals in South Africa.
Kabiru Bala was addressing protesters in front of the Nigerian embassy in Pretoria on Wednesday afternoon.
Various organizations and ordinary citizens called for massive action against illegal immigrants and what they call the abuse of South African diplomacy.
The group also marched to the Zimbabwe embassy with the hashtag: #PutSouthAfricaFirst. “

Bala said that while he welcomed the memorandum and the issues raised by protesters, it was unfair that only citizens of the West African country were targeted during Wednesday’s protest.
“I tell you that we do not accept Nigerians being portrayed as criminals. I will never accept the situation where you tell me that all Nigerians are criminals in this country. That is unacceptable, I will never accept it. “
