JOHANNESBURG – The officer accused of carrying out the shooting that claimed the life of Nathaniel Julies accused his partner of threatening her if she did not corroborate his version of events.

Simon ‘Scorpion’ Ndyalvane, Caylene Whiteboy and Voster Netshiongolo applied for bail in Protea Magistrates Court.

They are charged with killing 16-year-old Julies last month and tampering with the crime scene to try to cover it up.

In his affidavit, Whiteboy, who has been a police officer for just over a year, told the court that he did not intend to kill Julies when he shot.

His attorney Jeff Maluleke said he was simply acting on the instructions of his superior, Ndyalvane.

“The basis for such denial is that I simply acted on the information from our group commander that the firearm was still loaded with rubber bullets, as he had just used it before. Without my knowing that he was now loaded with live bullets. “

He said he received death threats from Ndyalvane.

“My group commander, who is also the No. 1 applicant on the matter, offered to pay my legal fees if I agreed to change my version of events according to his false version of events, but I refused.”

The matter was postponed to Wednesday.
