The Bucs finally got Tyson signed from the Students and he joined the Namibia international in Mayfair, but where will they fit in?
Orlando Pirates announced their first two major signings for PSL’s 2020-21 season in Thulani Hlatshwayo and Deon Hotto.
The pair, formerly of Bidvest Wits who sold their estate to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM), put pen to paper in a three-year deal on Monday afternoon, ending speculation about their immediate futures.
Now the big question is how will Josef Zinnbauer use his new options before the start of the new campaign?
The German mentor’s preferred formation is 3-4-3 with his full-backs playing full-back, which means that he likes his defensive-minded player to move up and down the flanks and aid in attack.

Tyson, as the 30-year-old is affectionately known, was hired to stabilize the Bucs’ defense.
While he can play in more than one position, Hlatshwayo is seen as the man who accompanies club captain Happy Jele at the heart of the Pirates’ defense.
Regardless of which formation Zinnbauer decides against any opponent, Hlatshwayo and Jele are more likely to break the go-ahead.
After all, he was bought to play and his experience and track record proved that he is trustworthy and can get the job done for any team at PSL.

His arrival means that players like Luvuyo Memela, Kabelo Dlamini, and Paseka Mako may have to settle for a seat in the bank because Zinnbauer has to give Hotto playing time after all, as it is seen as an investment that would generate earnings on the playing field.
As stated above, Zinnbauer prefers his full-backs to play as full-backs and in his 3-4-3, Hotto would give him options both in defense and attack.
If played open on the left side, Hotto would have to throw crosses for players like Gabadinho Mhango and Augustine Mulenga.
But the attacking duo are not the tallest of the forwards, which means that Hotto might have to keep the ball on the ground and find combinations without playing long balls inside the box, especially against teams with tall defenders like Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns. and SuperSport. What gives Hotto an advantage over the rest of the players that you will find in Pirates is that he can defend and has a great tank to go up and down the left side, something that only Maela has been able to do brilliantly in recent seasons. .

The advantage, however, is that he can take out opposition defenders coming from the right side too easily by cutting in and finding teammates with ease.
He has also scored many goals from deep, passing the ball over the goalkeeper or making his way into the penalty area with ease.
Sometimes Hotto would push the ball onto his weaker foot when defenders expected him to drop a shoulder, and that alone says a lot about his experience and qualities as a player.
Depending on what Zinnbauer wants to achieve this season, whether it’s finding someone to provide assistance to his attackers or keeping Maela on his toes as a left-back, Hotto promises to be a great signing for the 2013 Caf Champions League finalists.
