CAPE TOWN – Public Works Minister Patricia de Lille is responding to her detractors.

He said he is not concerned about what he believes to be a smear campaign by his department officials, including his CEO.

Officials have accused her of interfering and usurping her functions.

“They cannot handle me because I am bothering the criminals. I am bothering them so that they are not corrupt, and that is why they are joining now, there is a fight to say that the minister is interfering. I am making interventions where I see things they are going wrong. I will continue to intervene when I see that things are wrong, “he said.

The minister said that one of the key performance indicators for Public Works senior managers is obtaining an unqualified audit for the department for the current financial year.
