Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have tried to revolutionize content creation in the modern age.
Newly converted TV producers signed a huge contract with streaming giant Netflix earlier.
The deal reportedly costs around $ 100 to $ 150 million, after which the Sussexes even paid the taxpayer money used for the renovation of Frogmore Cottage.
The contract, however, is very important to Meghan and Harry for more than one reason.
Aside from the fact that it gives them the much-needed financial independence, it also helps them rebuild their public image.
A source said Us weekly that Harry and Meghan see the Netflix deal “as a way to rebuild their reputations” after their controversial royal departure earlier this year.
“It was too tempting to resist,” added the source.
Under the agreement, Harry and Meghan will produce a wide range of content, including feature films, documentaries, scripted shows and children’s programming.
The shows will be based on themes close to the heart of the couple.
“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” said a statement from them. “As new parents, doing inspiring family programming is important to us too … [Netflix’s] unprecedented reach will help us share compelling content that unlocks action. “
