Gareth Bale has been urged to copy a Cristiano Ronaldo trick to start running at Tottenham by Ian Wright.
The Welshman is closing in on a loan from Real Madrid to his former club, as he has become an outcast with Zinedine Zidane.
It saw him make just 20 appearances last season, raising questions about whether the Spurs will benefit from the 31-year-old’s return.
But Wright, who has scored 185 goals in nearly 300 Arsenal appearances, believes the 31-year-old should copy one of his former teammate’s tricks to get back into form.
Speaking on The Kelly & Wright Show, the former forward said: “We’re talking about Bale coming back to the Premier League and showing people that he still has it.

“He could have gone to China and people will probably question his wish now.
“In his mind, there was no love [at Madrid]. No matter what happened, he wasn’t playing games and he thought he might as well.
But this is Tottenham. When he returns to Tottenham, it will be all about him. But you will have to change your game a bit.
“We are seeing some amazing targets and people are looking forward to seeing them again.
“He has to get back on track and maybe even modify his game, like Cristiano Ronaldo, stay for the top of the game.”
The former Madrid player moved to Juventus in 2018 for £ 89 million, and scored 65 goals in 89 appearances.
Ronaldo began his lethal association with Bale in 2014 when the Welshman arrived for a record £ 85 million from Tottenham.
The 31-year-old had impressed in the 2012/13 season, scoring 26 goals in 44 appearances from the wing.
And former coach Redknapp believes the forward will be able to rekindle his form in North London.
“It would be a fantastic signing for the club and it would be great for Gareth to play again. He is such a talent, such a good player and it is a waste to see him not play,” Redknapp told BBC Radio Wales.
“Going back to Tottenham could change their season. They’ve been pretty average in the last six months. At the end of last season, they were obviously beaten on Sunday by Everton.
“They need that little bit of magic that Gareth can bring. If he went there or to Manchester United, wherever he went, it would make a big difference. ”
