Socialite and model Babalwa Mneno has again criticized suggestions that she is involved in a human trafficking scheme, calling the claims “obviously false”.
The star has previously denied claims that he was “selling girls” to foreign businessmen, but the allegations resurfaced this week with conversation about human trafficking on social media.
After meeting with his legal team, Babalwa issued a statement Tuesday denying the claims.
“I have decided to write and categorically affirm that all these malicious and ridiculous accusations are baseless and hopeless,” he wrote.
She said that in recent years her “name has been constantly tarnished” by accusations in an attempt to question her character, and there was no evidence linking her to any crime.
Babalwa said that he had always conducted his business legally, but such “bullying on social media” had caused “damage to his reputation, violence and emotional distress.”
The star added that an investigation is underway to try to find out who was responsible for the allegations and carry them out.
“My lawyers have informed me that legal action will be taken as soon as this problem has crystallized.”
