“At the time of the incident, the internal doctor was no longer his girlfriend. It was evidence from the State that the deceased had ended the relationship,” said Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, regional spokesman for the National Tax Authority (NPA).
Nkhwashu sent Xilumane a text message on January 15, 2020, ending their relationship.
On January 17, Xilumane traveled from her village in Giyani to the Mankweng Hospital where Nkhwashu worked.
He admitted to grabbing her by the neck and throwing her onto a bed.
Nkhwashu’s father, Kenneth, also told the court that Xilumane used to assault his daughter. He told the court that his daughter had sent him a photo of her with a puffy face.
