Two people were arrested for allegedly trying to rob a shopping center.
- Six men reportedly broke into a store in Cresta Mall, Randburg, on Monday morning.
- The suspects fled the store without taking anything after employees began yelling for help.
- The security guards pursued them and, together with the police, managed to arrest two of them.
Two men were arrested after an alleged failed attempted robbery at a store in Cresta Mall, Randburg, on Monday morning.
According to police, six armed suspects entered the store and allegedly pointed firearms at the employees, but fled shortly after without taking anything after the staff yelled for help.
Security guards responded to calls for help and chased down the suspects who fled on foot to a local shopping complex in Fairlands.

“The suspects hijacked two vehicles inside the shopping complex, but were cornered by police and security guards before they could leave,” said police spokeswoman Captain Mavela Masondo in a statement.
Two suspects, aged 42 and 48, were arrested while the others managed to escape.
An unlicensed firearm was recovered at the scene.
No injuries were reported.
