A three-year-old boy drowned in a lake in Erasmus Park, east of Pretoria, on Saturday afternoon.
ER24 emergency service spokesman Russel Meiring said ER24 and paramedics from other services arrived at the scene at 4:35 p.m. and found the boy lying on the shores of the lake. “Doctors quickly evaluated the boy and found that he showed no signs of life.
“Nothing could be done for him and he was pronounced dead.”
According to Meiring, family members and an off-duty doctor had already begun CPR, adding that his floating body was understood to have been discovered by a rower.
“It is said that the rower brought the boy back to the shore of the lake.
“No further details are known about this incident,” Meiring said.
