Cape Town – South Africa has recorded 1,816 new Covid-19 cases and 49 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

The latest figures bring the total number of cases in the country to 648,214.

PROVINCIAL SNAPSHOT

Gauteng remains the province most affected by the pandemic with 21,4,831 cases in total. Of these, 20 640 are active cases. This represents 33.1% of all cases in the country.

With 116,167 confirmed cases, KwaZulu-Natal has registered 17.9% of total Covid-19 cases nationwide, of which 7,420 are active cases.

DEATHS AND RECOVERIES
