The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has risen to $ 108 million with a cash option of $ 86 million.
No one nationwide won Tuesday’s $ 97 million jackpot and no tickets were sold for the second prize, $ 1 million. In New Jersey, a pair of $ 10,000 tickets were purchased that matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball. One was purchased at 7-Eleven on Palisade Avenue in Bogotá, the other at Lou’s Corner Liquormart on Van Buren Street in Newark.
The winning numbers on Friday were: 3, 15, 42, 48 and 56. The Mega Ball drawn was 13 with a 2x Megaplier.
Mega Millions tickets are $ 2 each and in New Jersey must be purchased by 10:45 pm on the night of the drawing. The odds of a ticket winning the jackpot for matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance to win the second prize of at least $ 1 million for matching five numbers.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington DC, and the US Virgin Islands.
The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence will begin to reopen to the public by appointment beginning September 14. You can still claim your winnings, as long as they are less than $ 599.50, in person at any retailer.
The lottery also accepts claims submitted by mail, although officials warn that payments could be temporarily delayed. Winners are advised to make copies of the claim form and winning ticket for their records.
The office has been closed since March 19.
