JOHANNESBURG – President Cyril Ramaphosa said there were several plans to improve the country’s economy after the devastating effects of the COVID-19 shutdown.

Ramaphosa spoke during a virtual meeting with members of the South African National Publishers Forum (Sanef) on Wednesday evening.

The president said that some of the government’s plans include new infrastructure projects.

“We will be able to identify key projects in all of our provinces that we can embark on. Some of them are ready and some are almost ready at the push of a button in no time and will create a large number of jobs. “

He said that corruption is being addressed through a multidisciplinary approach: “We are looking for broader measures to address in general to strengthen and better resourcing existing police resources to establish a multidisciplinary entity to ensure more effective detection and prosecution. “
