Kaizer motaung, the president of the South African glamor club, Kaizer bosses, has explained the reasons why the coach Ernst middendorp and the Amakhosi parted ways on Wednesday.

Chiefs announced Middendorps’ departure on social media following a heartbreaking finale to the Absa Premiership season in which the club won the title over Mamelodi Sundowns on the final day of the season.

Motaung said there were a number of reasons that were considered before the decision to fire Middendorp was finally made.

“We deliberate and consider many aspects of the team, including the way we play, our performances and the results before making the decision,” said Motaung.

“We really believed and hoped our 50th anniversary would be better and indeed it looked promising. The decision taken is part of a strategy for the team to win trophies again and make our fans happy because they deserve better ”.

Motaung said how the Chiefs struggled to resume the season after the lockout played a role in the decision to fire Middendorp.

“After giving the coach and coaching team the ammunition needed to compete in the new season, there were some improvements, and this became evident during the first seven months of this 2019/2020 season.

“However, when the league restarted after the lockout, things turned around and we looked a totally different side in our last eight league games. We witnessed some heartbreaking performances and they beat us on the record in the last game of the season, which really broke our hearts. We have to take responsibility, we cannot wait and allow this situation to continue. “
