EFF tells fighters to ‘hit back’ after filing charges against ‘psychotic’ woman – the Citizen

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) took a 180-degree turn and charged a 52-year-old woman who pointed a gun at members protesting outside a Clicks store in Walmer, Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the woman and several members of the EFF were arrested, but once at the police station the two groups decided not to press charges against each other. All were released and the woman’s legal firearm was returned to him.

However, the EFF issued a strong statement on Wednesday warning “all racists and sociopaths” that “they will no longer practice restraint in the face of their threats and provocations.”

It also “condemns in the strongest terms the psychotic white woman who drew a weapon against EFF members in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, while they were engaged in a peaceful protest against Clicks.”

According to the statement, the woman provoked a peaceful demonstration by combatants and then drew a firearm.

“The fact that there has been no outrage against the brand of a weapon against unarmed blacks reveals that black life in this country does not matter,” the EFF said.

“We congratulate our members for remaining calm and restrained at a time when their lives were threatened. They exhibited the utmost discipline as instructed in the face of provocation, and this only proves that the EFF had no intentions of violence during our protests. “

“We urge all combatants and ground forces to face any threat of violence with twice the violence and aggression. We cannot allow racists to openly threaten our lives without consequence, especially in a country of hypocrites who continue to condemn the non-existent violence of the EFF while ignoring incidents of racists threatening the lives of blacks with murder and weapons. “

“Non-existent violence” does not appear to apply in the cases of an eNCA journalist allegedly harassed by EFF members, or EFF deputy Kenny Motsamai, accused of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest after a altercation at Evaton Mall on Tuesday. .

“We wish to communicate to all ground forces and members that if they push you, push them back. If they attack you, hit them back with double the violence, ”the statement said.

“The time of passivity with racists and violent people has come to an end. The lack of outrage and consequences against a deranged white woman, who drew a gun in a public space, against a peaceful protest means that blacks are not safe in this country. Next time, our members will be shot and the racists will celebrate as they have because there are no consequences for a threat to black life.

“Now we will face violence with twice the violence because black people in this country cannot depend on law enforcement to protect them. One can only imagine what the headlines would have been if an EFF member had drawn a weapon against a white person in this country.

“We call on all our members to operate on the principle of self-defense. If someone pushes you, push them back, if someone points a gun at you, hit them until they can’t react in defense of your life.

“Let us continue to operate on the principle of peace, but if someone gets their hands on you, help them to unite with their ancestors.”

Meanwhile, despite Clicks obtaining an injunction against the party prohibiting it from intimidating staff and customers, EFF members were seen in stores across the country on Wednesday “to monitor and make sure all points of Clicks sales are not operational until September 12 “. .

However, all Clicks stores closed on Wednesday for employees to receive advice and support, and would reopen on Thursday.
