Naidu said his 7.65 pistol was confiscated by police.

Video of the incident is circulating on social media, showing the woman being escorted by four mall security guards away from a group of about four EFF members screaming.

To turn off

The 10:30 a.m. shouting match began outside a Clicks store, where EFF members converged as part of a national shutdown of the health and beauty retailer in response to an offensive ad.

EFF Eastern Cape and MPL provincial president Yazini Tetyana previously said of the incident that the party “enjoys irritating whites.”

He said that the confrontation was a demonstration that the EFF irritates the whites and that the party likes that.

The case was opened at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, hours after the EFF members and the woman were released from police custody after both parties initially refused to press criminal charges against each other.

They were arrested at the mall that same morning.

Walmer Shopping Center manager Leonie Scheepers said the incident broke out after the woman began filming an EFF meeting.

In footage captured by a buyer, one of the EFF supporters can be heard yelling “damn it, go back to Europe.”

The woman suddenly stopped in the middle of the lobby of the busy shopping center, pulled a firearm from her jacket and pointed it at the EFF members.

The EFF members reacted by shouting, “Shoot, shoot.”

He put the gun away and kept leaving the mall.

The protests come as Clicks is fighting a massive public backlash over an advertisement for TRESemme hair product, and posted by Clicks.

The ad described two images of a black woman’s hair as “dry and damaged” and “curly and lackluster”, while two images showing a white woman’s hair were described as “fine and straight” and “normal.”

Clicks apologized for the incident following protests on social media, sparking nationwide protests from the EFF.
