A woman was stabbed to death near Brits on Monday.

An alleged love triangle led to the death of a woman near the British in the North West on Monday.

According to police spokeswoman Lt Col Amanda Funani, a 27-year-old woman is expected to appear in Moretele Magistrates Court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of 30-year-old Christinah Ditsele.

“The suspect was arrested on Monday in the village of Cyferskuil near Brits after [allegedly] stabbed Ditsele with a knife [in] the chest.

“It is alleged that the suspect had an argument with her boyfriend of 22 years, accusing him of cheating [on her] with the victim. “

The woman then allegedly left her boyfriend on the street and returned later, carrying a knife, forcing him to flee.

“It is alleged that the suspect saw Ditsele whom he grabbed, pushed to the ground and stabbed in the chest. Ditsele was transported to the Kutlwanong clinic, where her death was certified.

The 27-year-old woman was arrested and charged with murder.

The Northwest Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Seal Kwena, urged community members to resolve their differences amicably rather than resorting to violence.
