Huawei’s new wireless earbuds, the Huawei FreeBuds 3i, launched in South Africa this week, at a much cheaper price than their competitors.
At R1,999, the headphones are much cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Live (R3,999) and Apple’s latest Airpods Pro (R4,999).
Like the other headphones, the new Huawei headphones come with a noise-canceling feature, allowing the user to listen to music, calls, and movie audio effects more clearly and without interruptions.
Its noise cancellation occurs through two microphones facing outwards and another microphone facing inwards.
“While the outward-facing microphone detects ambient noise to actively counteract it with anti-noise, the inward-facing microphone picks up other noises in your ears for greater cancellation, actively reducing background noise by up to 32 decibels,” he said. the company in a statement.
The noise cancellation function can be activated with a double tap and is also assisted by tapered ear tips, which provide a tight seal, according to Huawei.
Like the Airpods Pro, the Huawei headphones come with three different sizes of silicone tips, a feature not included in Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Live.
Pairing the headphones with other Huawei devices seems relatively straightforward. Users will receive a notification on their Huawei smartphone for automatic pairing as soon as the earphone case is opened. Users can also view the battery life of the headphones and the charging status of the case on their smartphones.
Huawei FreeBuds 3i users can listen to music for up to 3.5 hours on a single charge, which is somewhat shorter than its competitors.
With Airpods Pro, users have up to 4.5 hours of listening time on a single charge and up to 5 hours with noise cancellation turned off.
The Galaxy Buds Live beats them both with up to six hours of battery life.
The battery life of Huawei’s new charging case is 14.5 hours.
While Apple’s Airpods Pro only come in white, you can choose between Huawei FreeBuds in white or black.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds have an additional color option: “Mystic Bronze”.
