Eskom has Announced they have changed their load shedding schedule to Tuesday, September 8.

Subsequently, the load shedding will not take place between 08:00 and 16:00 as originally scheduled, and the stage 1 shedding will take place from 16:00 until 22:00 tonight.

This is due to the return to service of several power generation units as of last night, Eskom said.

The energy company stated that it will continue to communicate any changes in the supply situation.

This follows after Eskom announced on sunday that stage 1 load shedding would be implemented from 08:00 to 16:00 on Monday and Tuesday.

He said stage 2 load shedding would also be implemented from 4pm to 10pm on both days.

Eskom spokesman Sikonathi Mantshantsha said Eskom would provide an update Tuesday night on the load reduction program for the remainder of the week.

Eskom denies allegations of dishonesty

Eskom has accusations denied that you are deliberately misleading the public in the load shedding stages you are implementing.

This comes after energy advisor Ted Blom accused Eskom of lying about its load shedding levels, claiming Eskom has implemented higher levels of load shedding without informing the public.

He argued that this lack of transparency from Eskom is causing confusion among South Africans who may be experiencing cargo loss when they are not expecting it.

Eskom denied that the performance figures published by Eskom show that it is deliberately misleading the public in what stages of load reduction it is implementing.

“Ted Blom knows, or should know, that in terms of the Nersa NRS 048-9 rule, once Eskom declares phase 4 load shedding, it can ask any major industrial customer to reduce up to 20% of the load, “said Mantshantsha.

He said this explained the excess capacity cited in the power company’s load shedding figures.
