Durban – A pointing a firearm charge was opened at Walmer Police Station in Port Elizabeth after a woman pulled a firearm at EFF protesters on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said members headed to the station after their protest to open a case.
The woman is alleged to have been denied entry to the mall.
In the video, a verbal altercation ensues and the woman retrieves a gun pointed at the group.
Guards are seen around the group and they get the woman to leave.
Police said an investigation is underway, however no arrests have been made at this stage, despite allegations made on social media.

Hundreds of EFF members and supporters protested in front of Clicks stores across the country on Monday and Tuesday after the health and beauty retailer sparked anger from South Africans over the images on its website, which most believed showed prejudices against natural black hair.
While the EFF promised to ensure that Clicks stores remained closed this week, the Johannesburg High Court granted a ban to prevent the EFF from intimidating and threatening employees and the customer. The injunction also prohibits the EFF from inciting violence against business operations.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Clicks said all stores will be closed on Wednesday to interact with staff and provide advice and support.
“The closure means that Clicks will not be able to provide drugs to customers, plus public sector drug collection points will be temporarily unavailable. We recognize the significant impact this event has had on our people and customers and we are doing everything we can possible to ensure their safety and well-being. While the cost of rampant vandalism and looting in many stores is still being determined, we are considering available remedies, but no decision has been finalized, “said Clicks.
Stores will reopen on Thursday.
