Real Madrid are hopeful that Manchester United will present an offer for Gareth Bale having learned of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team “interest”, according to reports. Zinedine Zidane is eager to get the Welsh international off the books. But it will be easier said than done at a time when the coronavirus crisis still continues.
Manchester United have had transfer interests in Bale for several years.
Sir Alex Ferguson was hoping he could get the Welsh international from Southampton, only for the player to end up moving to Tottenham.
During his time at Real United, they have again tried to lure him to Old Trafford, with Louis van Gaal and José Mourinho trying their luck.
But Bale has always stayed at the Bernabéu, winning 13 trophies over a brilliant seven-year season in Spain.
Now, however, Real are eager to remove the 31-year-old from the salary account and Zidane is desperate to release Bale this time, with the pair having a difficult relationship.

Meanwhile, speaking recently, the Real star admitted he was open to a return to the Premier League.
“If those options (interest of Premier League clubs) arise, it’s something I would look at for sure,” he said.
“We will see what happens, we have a lot of time in this transfer window and also in a couple of more. Time will tell, but above all I think the reason is that the decision is in the hands of Real Madrid.
“I tried to leave last year but they blocked everything at the last second. It was a project that I was excited about but it didn’t materialize.
“There have been other cases in which we have tried to go, but the club does not allow it or they have done something. It all depends on the club.”

Bale is also hungry, despite the fact that his time in Spain has been laden with silverware.
“I want to play football, I am still motivated to play football, so I guess he’s at the club,” he said.
“They are in control of everything. I have a contract, all I can do is continue with what I am doing and I hope something comes up.
“I’m only 31 but I feel like I’m still in great shape and I feel like I have a lot to give.
“We will see what happens. It is in the hands of the club but they make it very difficult to be honest.”
