“Kai Havertz is already world class”

It has been clear for a while now, maybe a month or more, that Kai Havertz would be coming to Stamford Bridge to join Chelsea.

However, that didn’t stop the deal from dragging on, and it was only late last week that we were finally able to breathe easy, seeing the talent holding up his new blue shirt and smiling with Marina Granovskaia.

Now that we know he is a Chelsea player, we can start to get excited about how good he is, without risking spoiling the deal.

It’s time to remember what a man who knows more about Havertz than most has said. Rudi Voller is Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director, and he has seen the midfielder go from being a precocious youth player to a true star. His quotes on the club’s official website show how well he rated Havertz:

Kai “is already world class and definitely one of the best players ever to play for Bayer 04. In the years to come, Kai will show what a great player he is in the extremely demanding English league,” according to Voller.

We are glad to hear it. When you spend that amount of money on someone, you want to buy an established quality, and we seem to have hit the nail on the head in that regard. This is not a project or perspective, this is a world-class star, ready to go right away.

We can’t wait for Monday night.
